Ontario council seat decided by a draw out of a wedding hat from 1883, after tied vote

After a long campaign, a recount and two weeks of uncertainty, the race for a Norfolk County council seat was left up to fate. Chris Van Paassen will return as Ward 4 councillor after Norfolk County Clerk William Tigert drew his name from a hat Thursday night, breaking a tie with challenger Jeni Lambert.
