Ella Langley has reached a rare milestone with Choosin’ Texas, extending the song’s run at No. 1 on the Hot 100 to 14 weeks. Billboard chart data places the country singer alongside Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey for one of the longest reigns by a female artist without a male collaborator.
The latest rankings also confirm that Choosin’ Texas is the first song by a female artist to lead the Hot 100, Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts at the same time. It has also become the longest-running Hot 100 No. 1 by a female country artist.
The single was released in October 2025 as the lead track from Langley’s second studio album, Dandelion. She co-wrote it with Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick and JoyBeth Taylor.
Langley’s success now extends beyond one song. Dandelion opened at No. 1 on the albums chart, while other tracks have reached the upper levels of the Hot 100. The results mark a major crossover moment for a country artist whose audience has expanded well beyond the genre.
